Government Polytechnic Aboi was inaugurated on 27^thNovember 2020 by Shri Neiphiu Rio, Honorable Chief Minister of Nagaland.

The Institute functions under the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Nagaland and is affiliated to the State Council for Technical Education (SCTE). It currently offers Diploma in Civil engineering of three years duration. Aspiring candidates are selected through the state level Diploma Entrance Examination (DEE) conducted by the State Council for Technical Education (SCTE). Our Diploma program in Civil Engineering is approved by All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Government Polytechnic Aboi has an enrolment capacity of thirty (30) students. The numbers of students enrolled are twenty (20), thirty (30), twenty three (23) and thirty (30) for the year of 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 respectively. A total of eight (8) final year students have successfully received their Diploma in Civil Engineering in the year 2024. The Institute has a total strength of17 employees (Principal – 1,Lecturers – 7, Demonstrators – 5, LDA -1 and Multi-Tasking Staff – 3).

Besides offering engineering programs, Government Polytechnic Aboi also offers skill trainings under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 (PMKVY 4.0) and Pradhan Mantri Vishwa Karma (PMVK).
